About the Executive District Director and Central Coast and Hunter Opportunity

The Department of Communities and Justice is looking for a capable and experienced, Executive District Director who is passionate about directing and leading the operational management of Central Coast and Hunter District to shape the service system, ensuring vulnerable children, young people and their families receive sensitive and individualised assistance across our communities.

As the Executive District Director, you will lead and mentor a team of operational directors in community services, housing, sector and reform and, invest time in developing capability and building resilience with your team, ensuring the delivery of strategic goals and outcomes.

The Executive District Director Central Coast and Hunter role is also responsible for:

  • Leading strategic business operations to deliver the Premier’s priorities, DCJ Key Performance Indicators, and services that meet individual and community needs
  • Driving the district human services system, managing government, non-government organisations [NGOs] and communities to deliver core priorities and local service solutions.
  • Directing and delivering on reforms across the district and providing high level strategic advice.
  • Developing and driving team management, work planning, coaching and professional development initiatives to align resources to optimise service delivery and business outcomes.
  • Managing, planning and monitoring the financial budget within the district’s parameters.

Essential Employment Screening Requirements:

  • Current driver’s license and preparedness to drive a vehicle in the course of performing the role.
  • Appointments are subject to reference checks. Some roles may also require the following checks/ clearances:
    • National Criminal History Record Check in accordance with the Disability Inclusion Act 2014.

    • Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012.

It is an essential requirement of the role that successful applicants are fully vaccinated and able to provide acceptable proof of vaccination status.

As part of Pre-Employment screening checks, evidence of vaccination is required.

Evidence of COVID-19 vaccination status can include:

  • A vaccination certificate or other evidence from a vaccine provider.
  • An immunisation history statement which can be accessed from Medicare online or the Express Plus Medicare mobile app.
  • A statement of vaccination history which can be requested from the Australian Immunisation Register.
  • A record from a health practitioner, which includes a medical certificate.

If you need to seek an exemption for a medical contraindication, you will be required to complete a COVID-19 Vaccine Medical Contraindication form.
