The Dandenong & District Aborigines Co-operative Ltd (DDACL) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (ACCHO) which is governed by a community elected Board of Directors.
The position of maintenance worker sits with our Aged and Disability Care services team and its primary purpose is to provide Home Maintenance Services to all eligible clients of the Aboriginal community in an endeavour to improve their quality of life and maintain their gardens and homes within the designated catchment area of the Co-operative.
The successful candidates will have experience and qualifications/ training working in a similar role, a current unrestricted Victorian drivers licence, a working with children check and a satisfactory police check. You will need an ability to safely operate and use mechanical equipment such as motor mowers, whipper snippers, chain saws or brush cutters, blower vacs, and the safe use of hand held equipment such as hedge clippers, secateurs, etc. You will also need to be able to communicate effectively with Aboriginal people and work cohesively as part of a team.
