A little about the role

We are looking for experienced Residential Support Workers to join our Supported Independent Living (SIL) team to:  

  • Support people with disabilities to live independently and to achieve their personal goals.
  • Provide direct support for individuals during program delivery, meal times, personal care, behavioural, physical and social supports.
  • Create a positive environment for all residents promoting both physical and emotional well-being.
  • Provide quality services and outcomes, by the relationships formed between staff, the people we support, their families and representatives. 
  • Communicating with resident’s families and day program on a regular basis.

About you

To be considered for this role, you will need the following:

  • A strong knowledge of disability, including complex communication and behaviour, either through qualifications or demonstrated experience in the field.  
  • Applicants must be highly motivated, energetic and committed to providing the highest quality of care and support to people with a disability and be willing to support residents in a variety of activities in a variety of settings. 
  • Flexibility and availability is essential in this role, with the ability to work a variety of shifts: morning, day, afternoon, sleepovers, evening and weekends.
  • Experience in providing care to high physical care (hoists, transfers, bed transfers) and support with behaviours of concern
  • A strong understanding of NDIS Code of Conduct and Best Practice Standards.
  • Exceptional listening, reading and communication skills, with the ability to recognise and interpret non-verbal cues.
  • A detailed and thorough approach to record keeping.

  • Must be fully vaccinated (COVID)  
  • NDIS Worker Check
  • Working With Children Check
  • National Criminal History check
  • Unrestricted Victorian Drivers Licence
  • Level 2 First Aid Certificate
  • Two professional references
  • Right to work in Australia
