DUSA is the Deakin University Student Association and is the Deakin student voice at the university and in the broader community. We support all students whether they study off campus, are undergraduates, postgraduates or international students. DUSA aims at enhancing the student experience at Deakin.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team for a 12 month fixed term Maternity Leave cover and work within an established small marketing team in this all-rounder role with a focus on digital marketing.

• 22.05 hours per week with flexibility on days / hours (3 full days or part days)
• 12 month maternity leave role
• Up to $62k pro rata + 14% super + 17.5% leave loading
• Role to commence in March
• Training provided with a handover period

About the role

Reporting to the Operations Manager and working closely with the Marketing & Communications Coordinator, this role is key in supporting the team to promote student awareness and engagement with DUSA (Deakin University Student Association).

As the Marketing & Communications Officer this role encompasses the entire spectrum of marketing and communication activities, including a wide range of tasks. You will have the unique opportunity of working within a team as well as autonomously to handle tasks and projects and make the role your own.

You will:

• Assist to deliver communication strategies for campaigns and commercial activities
• Engage with students via creation and delivery of brand awareness campaigns
• Assist with the content management of the website and social media channels
• Monitor and report online trends
• Produce design components and copy for all marketing channels
• Contribute to the creation of print material
• Collaborate on the delivery and design of marketing projects

About you

As an experienced candidate, you will possess a flair for creativity, have the ability to work collaboratively, can handle deadlines and are a problem solver.

Ultimately we require:

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role within any industry
• A tertiary qualification in either Marketing, Communications or Visual Communications
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy
• Intermediate skills in the Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop & Illustrator)
• A valid working with children check
