About the Role

The successful incumbent will continue to develop Council’s assessment services and lead the team through upcoming industry changes to deliver consistent quality outcomes for clients, and effective use of resources.

  • Supervise, support, develop and mentor staff within the Assessment Team
  • Day to day management of and accountability for referral and assessment functions
  • Foster and maintain relevant and effective internal and external partnerships
  • Drive and support effective change processes to plan and implement the transition of a new service model and practices required by the Commonwealth Aged Care reforms
  • Participate actively as a member of the Leadership Team for the benefit of the broader department, organisation and community
  • Support and oversee the trial of the Integrated Assessment Tool

Skills & Experience

  • A tertiary qualification in health, welfare or related area
  • Strong team leadership experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of issues and trends within the aged care and disability sectors.
  • Plan, prepare and monitor budgets and align them with planned levels of service provision to ensure that services operate within budget and achieve funding level targets, according to Council financial policies and procedures.
  • Ability to be accountable for services provided according to funding and service agreements, regulations and standards.
