Domestic Violence Counsellor

Knowledge of nature, effect and dynamics of domestic/ family violence
Clear understanding of feminist theory and practice issues regarding violence against women and children
A demonstrated understanding of contemporary counselling practices along with direct experience in counselling and/or group work for survivors of domestic/ family violence
Ability to deal with issues of confidentiality
Ability to establish and maintain effective networks and relationships across all sectors
Ability to maintain professional independence and to work in a self directed manner
Computer literacy is essential
Being a female is a genuine occupational requirement for this position.
