Kin Disability Advocacy Inc (Kin) is a NFP that provides state-wide advocacy services to ethno-culturally and linguistically diverse (ELD) people with disability, their families/carers. Kin also works with other agencies to raise awareness of issues impacting on people with disability from ELD and Aboriginal backgrounds.

Kin is seeking to employ a part-time 22.5 hour per week Communications Officer, or equivalent Consultant, to 30 June 2024. In consultation with the management team, the primary objective of the role is to develop and deliver Kin's communication and brand strategy. The role includes creating content for traditional, web and social media platforms.

The role also includes monitoring website analytics, engagement with external agencies and organising promotional events.

The successful applicant will have experience running social media or digital campaigns, writing content for diverse communities and implementing communication strategies.

Basic proficiency in design programs like Canva as well as programs like WordPress and MailChimp are required. Creating digital content (text, images, video) for social media and managing platforms will be second nature.

Being able to plan, schedule and manage priorities will deliver well managed events while maintaining excellent relationships with agencies, stakeholders and other suppliers.

Experience working with a NFP, community or social purpose organization is a bonus.

A relevant Tertiary qualification (such as Communications, Journalism, Public Relations) or four years equivalent industry experience.

The position is based at Kin’s headquarters in Osborne Park.

Salary: Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, Level 5.3. Salary packaging options are available within ATO limits and guidelines. Regular support, training and professional development opportunities are provided.
