The Edmund Rice Centre WA (ERCWA) is one of Australia’s leading communities NFP service providers recognised by community groups, government, and other agencies in the field.

Established in 1998 to provide essential settlement services and community education activities in the northern suburbs of Perth, the Centre services have expanded more widely throughout the metropolitan area. Our focus is on people from a culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) backgrounds, youth at risk and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people.

THE ROLE

This role will lead the Edmund Rice Centre WA's Community Services Team that deliver settlement services and community education to culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

Based in Mirrabooka, this role oversees programs in Mirrabooka, Koondoola and Thornlie.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential:

  1. Tertiary qualification in a related discipline
  2. At least 3 years of proven management experience in the community services sector including human resource responsibilities
  3. Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  4. Empathy and sensitivity to the needs of diverse staff, communities and other stakeholders
  5. Effective problem-solving skills and ability to handle demanding situations and complaints effectively
  6. Demonstrated experience in managing funding programmes
  7. Experience of preparing funding bids, including presenting and reporting on projects to funders and other interested partners
  8. Demonstrated project management skills, ideally in the settlement and/or community education areas
  9. Proficiency in using a range of Microsoft Office packages
  10. Australian working rights, a current WA Driver’s License, National Police clearance and Working with Children Check or ability to gain one
  11. A commitment to the vision, mission and values of the Edmund Rice Centre WA

Desirable:

  1. An ability to network and bring together stakeholders and interested parties for effective program delivery, including the organisation of place-based reference groups to guide the delivery of the program
  2. Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering strategic communication plans
  3. Experience working with a wide range of community and voluntary groups
