An exciting opportunity now exists for a suitably qualified Registered Nurse to lead the Medical Ward and High Dependency Unit at Echuca Regional Health.

The role will be required to:

  • Lead and manage the unit assuming responsibility and accountability for the standard of clinical care delivered and the operational performance of the area.

  • Ensure safe, quality, person centred care is provided in partneship with consumers.

  • Work closely with the nursing management team to ensure services are delivered in line with Echuca Regional Health’s vision, mission, values, and Strategic Plan.

  • Practise and promote a culture of continuous quality improvement, evidence-based practice and lifelong learning.

Our team requires someone who has:

  • Energy, enthusiasm and a collaborative, inclusive approach to team development.
  • Extensive experience in an acute clinical area with a post basic qualification in a relevant field.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary management practice and the ability to lead and manage staff in an environment of change
  • The ability to prioritise, set goals and objectives and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels
  • Understanding of budget planning, monitoring and control.
  • A strong consumer focus
  • Knowledge and experience with quality improvement processes and NSQHS National Standards accreditation requirements
  • Report writing ability
  • Computer literacy and word processing skills and the ability to access and analyse data.

This position requires completion of a satisfactory National Police Check and (where relevant) provision of a Working With Children Check and check on the Disability Worker Exclusion Scheme prior to appointment.
