The Australian Education Research Organisation (AERO) is Australia’s national education evidence body. Provide high level support to the CEO and Board

The Executive Officer provides administrative, policy and strategic coordination services to support the CEO, Board Chair, Board of Directors, and Senior Manager, Strategy & Operations. The role contributes to the provision of secretariat services to the Board of Directors and the AERO Executive. We are looking for someone who has:

  • exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, and strong problem-solving skills
  • demonstrated experience coordinating high-level meetings
  • strong administrative skills and experience
  • a high level of organisational skills and attention to detail, including a meticulous approach to logging and reporting on tasks
  • proficiency with technology and equipment, databases and cloud based services including MS365 (particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams).

Accountabilities

  • Coordinate the flow of work through the office of the CEO.
  • Prepare, coordinate and review correspondence, agendas, minutes, slides, speaking points, reports and briefing notes.
  • Undertake basic research and analysis to inform advice and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide logistical and administrative support to the CEO, including calendar and records management.
  • Support coordination and scheduling of meetings and events including for the AERO Board and related bodies.  
  • Design, monitor and implement strategies to continuously improve processes that support the delivery of quality outcomes.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Board members, key stakeholders and other important contacts.
  • Provide professional and helpful service to all visitors and correspondents, including responding to requests for information or assistance and tracking their resolution, to ensure a good end-to-end service.
  • Manage the AERO information inbox.
  • Manage the AERO workspace in Sydney, including tracking of membership, equipment and technology, and receiving and distributing correspondence.
  • Where relevant, lead the performance and professional development of staff, building a highly productive and collaborative team.
