What you'll be doingThe NSLHD Nursing and Midwifery Workforce will be compassionate, competent, confident, contemporary, capable and committed to leading person-centred health care.

To provide a high standard of customer service for all NSLHD Oral Health patients, visitors and employees in a manner consistent with the NSLHD Core Values and Behaviour Charter.

The primary responsibility of the Nurse Manager is to lead the NSLHD Oral Health Quality, Patient Safety, Risk Management, Work Health & Safety and Infection Control program and inspire change in new and innovative clinical quality and safety processes across the service. As a member of the Oral Health Management Team this position will work closely with Oral Health Managers and staff to enable and support continuous clinical quality improvement and patient centred care.

The position will lead, advise and monitor internal and external review processes, quality improvement initiatives, risk management, workplace health and safety processes and system development, and consistent policy, protocol and guideline practices in NSLHD Oral Health.

This position will also lead the project management of the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards review and accreditation process for NSLHD Oral Health.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
  2. Registered Nurse, with current AHPRA registration, with substantial and current experience in the development and implementation of quality improvement and infection control programs.
  3. Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or substantial experience working in a quality, patient safety, risk management and infection control role within a multidisciplinary environment.
  4. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written) with demonstrated networks and partnerships with multiple/key stakeholders.
  5. Demonstrated ability to critically think, prioritise competing demands, make decisions independently but also work effectively as a team member.
  6. Knowledge and understanding of the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards and experience in coordinating accreditation reviews, WHS principals, Cultural Diversity and Risk Management.
  7. Proven project management experience including experience in preparation of written reports and excellent computer skills.
  8. Current valid driver’s licence and a willingness to travel to NSLHD Dental clinics.
