- Base Salary: $59,948.66 - $86,072.46
- Gross Salary Package (Base Salary + Superannuation + Leave Loading): $69,129 - $96,016
Position Overview
The Registered Nurse plays a significant role in supporting the strategic directions of Family Planning NSW. This multi-faceted role, supports clinical service delivery in NSW, and clinical education both in NSW and the Pacific. This role will be provided with opportunities to develop knowledge, skills and competency in clinical services, education and international program delivery with rostered placements across each program area working as part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team.In clinical services the Registered Nurse will provide reproductive and sexual health consultations either in person or by telephone, this may include clinic environment, or day surgery depending on roster scheduling. All RNs are expected to develop skills in LARC insertion and removal (implant and IUD) and provide clinical instruction as part of their clinical role.
In Education Services, the Registered Nurse will contribute to the development, delivery and evaluation of clinical and multidisciplinary courses, workshops and seminars. This is for both Family Planning NSW clinical staff and external course participants.
Selection Criteria
Essential (including qualifications)
- Primary nursing degree with current AHPRA registration and no conditions or notations
- Minimum 2 years post graduate experience which may include clinical experience in reproductive and sexual health, clinical education, or international development
- High level of cross cultural knowledge and awareness
- Experience working with FPNSW’s defined priority populations - Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, young people, people with disability, culturally and linguistically diverse people
- Well-developed communication skills including online and interpersonal negotiating and relationship building skills and ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively utilise electronic medical record systems, and varied computer programs such as Microsoft Office
- Full Australian drivers licence and the ability to travel within NSW and to the Pacific region (travel restrictions permitting)
Desirable or willingness to obtain
- Post graduate qualification in reproductive and sexual health nursing (RSH-CAP or equivalent)
- Willingness to develop skills in LARC insertion and removal (implant and IUD)
- Experience in perioperative nursing, telephone triage, clinical instruction, adult education and/or clinical research
- Tertiary qualifications in adult education, midwifery, public health or international development
- Experience in the planning and delivery of clinical education
- Understanding of adult learning principles, teaching methodologies, curriculum development and evaluation processes
- Experience in the planning, development, delivery and support of education programs, including online courses
