Position Description

Fair Game is a not-for-profit organisation that believes sport and fitness are integral components of a healthy lifestyle. Through the provision of recycled sporting equipment, fitness and health education programs we aim to: reduce the risk of lifestyle related disease, build social cohesion and improve mental well-being. Our beneficiaries include; rural, regional and remote communities, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, CALD communities and low socio-economic demographics.

The Business Development Manager for Fair Game Australia will be responsible for contributing to the strategic growth of the organisation by developing projects and securing new funding sources. This role will also drive Fair Game’s communications strategy. The position plays an important role in ensuring that Fair Game can sustainably grow its impact whilst ensuring that all communications positively and accurately reflect the work, values and vision of Fair Game Australia.

This role will be varied but there will be a few key activities that you will need to undertake, such as:

  • Develop and execute an agreed development strategy to grow philanthropic and corporate sponsorship programs
  • Actively seek out new philanthropic and partnership prospects
  • Manage and grow the current suite of partners
  • Develop and maintain a communications strategy which is tailored to our different stakeholder groups and the general public
  • Identify and maximise networking opportunities

What will success look like:

  • Development of new projects in line with Fair Game’s mission
  • Growth of Fair Game’s funding through philanthropic and corporate sponsorship programs to agreed KPIs

Experience, Capabilities and Skills

  • Degree in relevant discipline (eg Commerce, Business, Marketing) or a tertiary degree and relevant business experience
  • At least 5+ years’ experience in the philanthropic or corporate fundraising sector with demonstrable results in fundraising, communications, events, donor acquisition and management.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational, verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent presentation and pitching skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • High level of attention to detail and excellent time management
  • A flexible approach responsive to changing priorities
  • Current Australian Driver’s License
  • Working with Children Check
