FareShare operates Australia’s largest charity kitchens in Melbourne and Brisbane cooking 12,000 meals every day. We are a community-powered task force with hundreds of volunteers who help us cook, distribute, and grow food. We also empower hundreds of corporate volunteers to make a difference in our kitchens each year.

FareShare provides free meals to more than 400 charities including homeless shelters, women’s refuges, disadvantaged schools, and community food banks. Our vision is for a society where food is not wasted, and no one goes hungry.

About the role

We’re looking for a full-time Volunteer and Community Coordinator to join our Brisbane team. A true all-rounder, you will be responsible for our regular volunteering program and lend assistance with FareShare’s corporate volunteering program, front-line charity relationships, and events.

As the first point of contact for our volunteer community, you’ll recruit, organise and engage our volunteer workforce, working as a team with the Community Manager. As a volunteer-powered organisation, this role is integral to the operations of Brisbane’s largest charity kitchen enabling us to cook thousands of nutritious, free meals for Queenslanders in need, regardless of their circumstances.

About you

You have a passion for our community and have exceptional communication and people skills backed by experience in administration. In previous roles, you will have demonstrated your ability to use initiative, troubleshoot, and manage time efficiently. You will need strong computer skills (particularly in MS Office) and, ideally, will have experience using databases and CRM tools.
