Board of Directors (Voluntary)

Fight Cancer Foundation

DETAILS

FCF is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing support services including accommodation for people who must travel to access life-saving cancer treatment, and education support for children and young people living with cancer. FCF also funds vital research into cancer treatment and cures.

Established in 1989, originally as the Bone Marrow Donor Institute, by a passionate group of devastated families impacted by leukaemia, with the aim of establishing a donor registry. Today, the Foundation is a national charity, dedicated to helping people living with cancer.

FCF is a registered charity and is governed by a Board. The role of the Board is to provide governance and strategic leadership to the organisation and comprises members who possess a wide range of skills and backgrounds. Director positions are voluntary.

Directors are not involved in the day-to-day operations, however, should be aware of the activities, services and programs the organisation provides.

The Board meet a minimum of ten times per year along with an AGM. There may also be a requirement to participate in one of the Board sub-committees, which also meet monthly or bi- monthly. Meetings are held at the FCF office in Melbourne or online via Teams.

More information about the Fight Cancer Foundation can be found here.
