Your new role

The Finance team at Foundation House covers the full range of financial, accounting, reporting, operations and payroll functions.

Your role as an Assistant Accountant will be responsible for financial processes including preparation of financial reports and budgets, credit card and bank reconciliations, supplier management, month end processes, preparation of customer invoices and high level reviews of entries into accounts payable.

You will also prepare and manage small budgets.

About you

You are a collaborative team player, with the ability to pick up new skills rapidly. You have excellent attention to detail and accuracy and are able to prioritise and manage your own time. You have a sound understanding of accounting principles, the ability to prepare budgets and if you aren’t experienced already, you have a keen willingness to learn how to process both payable and receivable invoices, as well as prepare bank and general ledger journals and reconciliations. You have experience with accounting systems and have advanced Excel Skills.

We provide services to advance the health, wellbeing, and human rights of people of refugee backgrounds in Victoria who have experienced torture or other traumatic events in their country of origin, or while fleeing those countries. The organisation was established in 1987, has over 230 employees and is growing.
