POSITION PURPOSE:
The purpose of this role is to take the responsibility for all marketing and communication functions.
This includes, but is not limited to, developing, and implementing fundraising strategies and campaigns, events, supporter engagement and general communication including, social media and EDMs. You will be responsible for recruiting new supporters, donors and advocates and building our organisational profile amongst Christian and general audiences across Australia; with the aim of rapidly expanding our funding capacity. As a core member of staff, we expect this position to be filled by someone who aligns with our vision and mission as a faith-based organisation.
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Marketing: Fundraising, Campaigns & Content
- Develop, implement and promote corporate fundraising programs eg. employer gift-matching and corporate grant programs or CSR initiatives.
- Develop, implement & promote other ongoing general fundraising campaigns and strategies eg. bequests, monthly giving, major donor program, designated funds etc.
- Develop, implement and promote fundraising appeals through direct mail, email and web-based giving eg. End of Financial Year & Christmas appeals.
- Responsible for growing The Freedom Project brand awareness to target audiences.
- Manage all omni-channel strategies, including digital platforms.
- Oversee content to ensure consistency and accuracy, including virtual and printed materials.
- Pursue media opportunities, including media releases, other PR and promotional materials.
Communications
- Research & develop new and existing campaign strategies to encourage increased donations from existing supporters, lapsed donors and new supporters.
- Ensure excellent customer service and prompt correspondence of supporter enquiries through emails, phone calls, social media, and face-to-face meetings.
- Ensure supporters are kept up to date with campaigns, news, general and prayer updates.
- Maintain up-to-date content on social media and our website, including blogs.
- Communication with field partners to gather stories and content for marketing purposes.
- Represent The Freedom Project to the media and the general public as designated to share the message to carry the cause of The Freedom Project as requested by the CEO.
- Manage the CRM.
- Assist the CEO in managing partnerships and relationships with key stakeholders.
- Help shape the Christian culture and attitude of the organisation, including prayer and commitment to biblical perspectives on justice.
- Any other marketing communication, administration or organisational tasks that may be required.

- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with a wide range of people and stakeholders, including individuals, corporate donors, schools, and churches.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, be self-motivated, take initiative and solve problems.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Experience
- Tertiary education in fundraising, marketing, management, international aid, or related social sciences.
- Experienced marketer with proven track record of results.
- Demonstrated success in fundraising and campaigns.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office – especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience in managing social media, websites, CRM databases and email servers.
- Experience in a Christian NGO, especially with a focus on justice, international projects, and/or advocacy would be beneficial.
