We focus on providing niche services both in residential and community care for elderly people of Greek speaking background in Victoria and of multilingual background in New South Wales.

An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our Community Services division as a Community Services Manager. The role focuses on the key functions and efficient operations of the Community Services Programs and demonstrates leadership to the team whilst being a strong advocate of clients’ needs.

This role requires a high level of analytical abilities as well as excellent supervisory and leadership skills to drive dynamic teams within the Community Services division. The successful candidate will be a lateral thinker who thrives on ‘looking outside the square’ whilst ensuring high standards of services are delivered according to the respective standards and regulations. As Fronditha Care is a niche provider to the Greek community, the ability to communicate in Greek is a priority.

The position of Community Services Manager is responsible to:

  • Provide strong leadership
  • Have experience with Commonwealth Home Support Programme Policy
  • Oversee the Volunteers, Host Home, Planned Activity Groups, Access & Support and Domestic Assistance Program areas.
  • Supervise a dynamic team of Coordinators
  • Provide leadership and management to direct care staff through proper support, supervision and training.
  • Work within Fronditha Care’s Consumer Directed Care Model of Service.
  • Ensure service delivery meets all funding agreement requirements, quality standards and the Aged Care Act 1997 as well as Fronditha Care’s quality assurance goals.
  • Monitor performance against annual budget.
  • Manage targets and ensure future growth in accordance with each program’s guidelines and framework.
  • Have a ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Contribute to Community Services completion of month end deadlines as required.
  • Enhance Fronditha Care’s high profile within the broader community.

Requirements / Key Selection Criteria

The successful candidate will have tertiary qualifications in Social Sciences, Business, Community Services or equivalent and minimum five (5) years work experience as a Manager. The selection criteria include but are not limited to:

  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Sound knowledge and thorough understanding of the aged care service system and other government policy frameworks.
  • Demonstrable ability to network and develop positive relationships
  • Well developed interpersonal, communication and public presentation skills
  • Creativity and initiative in undertaking role, and ability to work in a team
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Greek, verbal and written
  • Sound knowledge of issues facing older people and experience in supporting clients with dementia.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a dynamic team.
  • High level of motivation and problem solving skills
  • Excellent OH&S awareness
