The Codesign (HCD) Project Specialist– Future Connect scopes / conceives, co-designs, develops, implements and evaluates projects and initiatives at Future Connect.

The Codesign (HCD) Project Specialist is responsible for establishing and developing partnerships and stakeholder relationships. The position contributes to the development of a comprehensive pathway and employment program across Future Connect.

Future Connect has established itself in the western suburbs as a champion of codesign and has a proven track record of co-designing with the community and developing innovative solutions for youth unemployment. The Codesign (HCD) Project Specialist will have oversight of projects that include a social enterprise café, a partnership with VU and the Paul Ramsey Foundation as well as ongoing workshops and projects.

About you

  • Passionate about centring the voices of young people/lived experience in design processes
  • Experienced in program or service design and implementation
  • Sound knowledge and experience with Design Thinking and/or Human Centred Design
  • Values relationship building with the community
  • Working to create inclusive spaces for community to participate in design processes
  • Experience managing multiple projects end-to-end

Experience

  • Experience or exposure to Human-Centred Design and participatory design / research experience highly desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to support the design, development and implementation of new programs/ projects
  • Demonstrated extensive project management experience in the youth and/or community sectors with a particular focus on initiating new projects and establishing and maintaining strong stakeholder engagement in the local community and evaluation of impact.
  • Demonstrated experience in facilitation and training as well as working with young people to design, plan, implement and evaluate a youth-led project
