Gymea Bay Care & Leisure Centre (GBOOSH) is a not-for-profit community based Centre providing care for 5-12 year olds in Before School, After School & Vacation Care. As an Educator you will be engaging with and caring for school aged children in our service located on the grounds of Gymea Bay Public School.

Essential Criteria

• Minimum 6 months experience working with children, preferably in a formal child care setting or similar environment.
• Valid Working with Children check number.
• Current approved Child Protection and First Aid Certificate for working in a care environment (or willing to obtain).
• Strong communication skills, both oral & written.

Ideal Candidates would be able to demonstrate the following:

• Completed/currently studying Certificate III, IV or Diploma in School Age or Early Education & Care or university degree.
• A knowledge of the National Quality Framework, including My Time, Our Place & National Regulations.
• Experience in implementing & evaluating developmentally appropriate, stimulating program in the child care/OOSH industry.
• A understanding of the duty of care, supervision and risk management responsibilities of working in a care environment.
• An ongoing commitment to working with children & families.

Flexible hours are rostered based on individual availability, with an expectation to be available a minimum of 4 shifts per week (preferably afternoons between the hours of 2pm - 6pm). Potential to transition to a permanent part-time role in the future.

Salary conditions are subject to negotiation with each candidate based on skills and knowledge. Training and inductions to commence ASAP!
