Guide Dogs Queensland is seeking an Allied Health Assistant to join our Client Services team working from our head office in Bald Hills.

Our client service programs support Queenslanders to live the way you want, regardless of vision level. Programs include orientation and mobility services, occupational therapy services and a range of non-clinical lifestyle programs to support individual needs, incorporating the principles of social inclusion, empowerment and independence.

We currently have a part-time opportunity (60.8hrs per fortnight) for an Allied Health Assistant to join our team.

This role requires you to undertake a variety of clinical and non-clinical support tasks assisting our practitioners to deliver allied health programs and services to clients in both community based and residential settings. The range of tasks will be multi-disciplinary in nature and may include assisting with in-home therapy programs, community integration, assisting with group activity and supporting residential activities.

About You

With an energetic and enthusiastic approach, you will be able to offer practical work experience and your knowledge will include:

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with colleagues, clients and their families.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise individual work commitments, and to plan, coordinate and complete tasks in an effective and timely manner.
  • A good understanding of own scope of practice.
  • Demonstrated commitment to relevant skill development and service improvement activities.
  • A Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance is desirable.
