Remote / Work from Home
GiveOUT is a national LGBTIQ+ led funding organisation. We work to increase the pot of gold under the rainbow. Established in 2016, GiveOUT has distributed more than $1.4 million to over 120 LGBTIQ+ organisations.
We have three key pillars:
1. Advocacy and research
We produce evidence-based research into the forces preventing equality for LGBTIQ+ communities in Australia and opportunities to create change. This research is used to guide our funding decisions, increase our impact, and advocate externally for increased resources and capacity to the LGBTIQ+ community sector.
2. Capacity building
We work with LGBTIQ+ community organisations in Australia to build their skills and capacity to resource themselves. Almost half the LGBTIQ+ organisations in Australia survive off less than $10,000 a year. We provide centralised infrastructure and skills training to build the capacity of LGBTIQ+ organisations so they can increase their impact in the community.
3. Funding LGBTIQ+ projects and organisations
From small grassroots organisations to well established national not-for-profits, we fund projects that work to benefit LGBTIQ+ communities in Australia. We take an intersectional approach and fund many types of projects, from service delivery, to advocacy, to operational funding across multiple issue areas including health, housing, mental health, anti-discriminations and anti-bullying, with the goal to strengthen the LGBTIQ+ community sector ecosystem. We have two primary funding mechanisms: GiveOUT Day and the Amplify Pride Fund.
We brought GiveOUT Day to Australia for the first time in April 2019, where we successfully raised more than $85K for 39 LGBTIQ+ organisations across the country – in just 24 hours. GiveOUT Day has grown each year and in 2021-2022 we raised over $300,000 per year for 85+ LGBTIQ+ organisations.
In 2022, in partnership with Aurora and the Snow Foundation, we launched the Amplify Pride Fund. The Amplify Pride Fund provides LGBTIQ+ organisations across Australia with larger, more sustainable funding.
