The Goldfields Land and Sea Council (GLSC) is the principal voice for Aboriginal people from the Goldfields-Esperance region on matters to do with land and waters, governance, social and economic development, heritage and other matters of justice. The GLSC is the Federal Government-appointed Native Title Representative Body for the region, enjoying widespread support from communities, organisations and individuals throughout the area.

The GLSC wishes to appoint Land Management Project Coordinator. This position is Kalgoorlie based and reports to the Manager - Land Anthropology/Heritage and Future Acts. The Land Management Project Coordinator position attracts a base salary of $87,915 p.a., along with salary packaging of allowable pre-tax earnings.

The Land Management Project Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Develop and enhance capacity within the GLSC to engage in land management projects in the Goldfields;
  • Facilitate consultation and engagement by the GLSC with Traditional Owners on land management projects;               
  • Provide support to the GLSC’s Aboriginal rangers;
  • Providing advice to senior staff on the management of projects;
  • Prepare funding applications and assist with acquittals for land management activities through funding programs such as, but not limited to: the Indigenous Advancement Strategy: Indigenous Land Corporation; and Goldfields Esperance Development Commission;
  • Lead the development of Indigenous Protected Area and pastoral business models;
  • Coordinate the development, maintenance, review and modification of systems, policies and procedures in relation to land management activities, including risk assessments;
  • Ensure that all the aims of the project are met;
  • Making sure all quality standards are met; and
  • Represent the GLSC’s interests with executives and senior officers from both the public and private sector regarding land management activities.
