Participation Officer - Inclusion

Golf Australia is an organisation currently going through a significant period of change as a result of the incorporation of state golf member associations into the national governing body of golf through the One Golf process.

The Participation Officer - Inclusion will be primarily responsible for the following key areas:

  • Finalisation and go-to-market of the Freestyle Golf program in Victoria a partnership with VicHealth with the aim of increasing physical activity in youth from diverse backgrounds including people with a disability.
  • Implementing the Sport and Recreation Victoria - supporting Victorian Sport & Recreation (SVSR) workplan for Golf Victoria

Additionally you will assist the Senior Manager - Inclusion as directed on the roll-out of projects such as the Golf Inclusion Research Project, inclusive tournaments and the delivery of inclusive golf initiatives at schools and clubs.

The required skills and capabilities for the role would be:

  • Well developed interpersonal and cross cultural communication skills with ability to liaise with a diverse range of people including young people, families, communities, volunteers  and external organisations.
  • Preferred experience engaging with external stakeholders to drive participation and program outcomes.
  • Strong task prioritisation ability.
  • Interest and comfort level in developing and operationalising program strategy.
  • Passion for sport (golf experience not necessary)
  • Relevant Tertiary degree (sports/event management)

24 month fixed term contract, based in Cheltenham.
