The Sisters of the Good Samaritan were founded in 1857 by Archbishop Bede Polding who believed their work was about being neighbour to the poor and destitute women and children of Sydney. These days the sisters reach out and help wherever they can through their Ministries in Australia, Japan, Philippines and Kiribati.

The Executive Assistant will undertake a full range of secretarial and administrative support functions at our Glebe office to provide executive level support to the Director of Operations and the Business & Finance Manager. This role includes administrative support for the WHS, Asset Management (property) and HR Functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide prompt high-level executive and administrative assistance & support.
  • Coordinate requests for information from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare correspondence, briefing papers, reports and other associated documentation.
  • Coordinate meetings by organising agendas, minute taking, preparing action lists and distribution.
  • Manage diaries and travel arrangements.
  • Manage and maintain both physical and electronic filing systems.
  • Develop and maintain databases as required.
  • Manage & maintain records in relation to WHS.
  • Maintain a property Asset Register.
  • Liaise with residents, suppliers and insurance providers regarding maintenance, refurbishment and repairs of properties.

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience as an Executive/Personal Assistant to a senior manager or similar employment experience.
  • Superior office management skills.
  • High-level written and oral communication skills.
  • Highly developed liaison and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and database records management system, and intermediary experience with Microsoft Excel.
  • Must hold or be willing to undertake a Police Clearance check and Working with Children Check for the State of NSW.
