headspace Nowra supports young people aged 12 to 25 across the areas of mental health, physical/sexual health, drug and alcohol and vocational/educational services.

Under the lead agency of Grand Pacific Health, headspace Nowra is expanding our vocational service through the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) trial. Thus we are seeking an energetic experienced vocational specialist to join our team. The Vocational Specialist will work with young people who experience barriers to employment and/or education to support them to achieve their vocation and/or education goals. This will involve assertive outreach work combined with excellent youth engagement skills to ensure young people are well supported and are linked to suitable employment opportunities.

The specialist will also provide vocational leadership to clinical staff within their centre and actively develop partnerships with a wide range of external organisations to enhance vocational outcomes for young people. This will include extensive contact with employers, training providers, educational institutions, community service organisations and other health professionals.

The position can be based in Nowra, with applications encouraged for people interested in providing services in Shellharbour or Ulladulla. Applicants wishing to work from these location must be able to travel to Nowra. Hours can be negotiated with the right candidate.
