The campaign team is responsible for fighting for strong climate action and nature protection. Whether it’s preventing huge new gas mines, taking the fight of the Pacific to the world’s biggest stages, or advocating for solutions to replace harmful forms of economic activity, you’ll be working on campaigns we believe will make the world safer and more just.
The Advocacy Manager is a new role that will shape and lead the implementation of Greenpeace Australia Pacific (GPAP)’s political strategy to deliver on campaign goals, specialising in political strategy, relationships and advocacy.,
The Advocacy Manager is responsible for leading engagement with the Australian Federal Parliament and associated political, NGO, media and industry networks, and will use their strong existing political networks and deep knowledge of parliamentary policy and process to help raise the Australian Parliament’s climate and nature protection ambition.
This is an exciting opportunity to leverage Greenpeace’s large supporter base, considerable corporate campaigning expertise and international reach to secure great political outcomes for the Australian environment and the planet.
This is a 3-year contract position on either a full-time or part-time basis, depending on candidate preference and skillset.
We are looking for an outstanding political strategist and advocate who can greatly enhance Greenpeace’s influence and impact on the Australian Parliament to deliver campaign goals. You’ll have a deep understanding of Australia’s political system and how to best influence it using the considerable supporter base, campaign expertise and standing of Greenpeace. You’ll also have:
Open to applicants Australia wide, with a preference for either Canberra, Sydney or Melbourne. If based outside of Canberra, the role will require regular travel to Canberra, particularly during parliamentary sitting weeks.
Salary $121,398.65 per annum + Superannuation
