We are now recruiting for two Permanent Part Time Support Workers. Candidates need to be very flexible, to work a changing pattern of shifts including active nights, sleepovers and weekends. Candidates will need previous experience working with people with significant disabilities requiring high levels of support, sometimes with behaviours that might be confronting for others.

Successful applicants will have a strong desire to support people to live the lives they want to live, to achieve their goals and receive individualised support.

We would like to hear from you if you can demonstrate the following:

• Proven ability to support people who may experience a range of significant support needs which may result in behaviour that can at times be confronting and require intensive assistance
• Availability to work a changing shift pattern, including active nights, sleep overs and weekends
• To work effectively and productively within a small team
• A knowledge of and commitment to the Vision Mission and Values of House with No Steps
• Proven initiative and problem solving skills
• Knowledge of person centred approaches and practices
• Ability to engage and network within the community
• Effective communication skills working with families
• Current first aid certificate and Australian drivers licence
• Certificate III in Disabilities or equivalent qualification
• Experience in working with people who have high support needs preferred

Desirable

• Certificate IV in Disabilities or equivalent experience
