THE POSITION:

Are you keen to help out with a specific project for the remainder of 2021? Do you have a professional background in risk management? HFHA, based in North Sydney, has a total of 20 head office staff and welcomes volunteers to assist with a range of projects. There is currently a need for a review of our risk management framework, our Board risk policy and assistance with the setting of our risk appetite statements for the work HFHA does, together with its international partner organisations and domestically.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing legislation, ACFID Code of Conduct, DFAT requirements, HFH International policies to determine requirements which must be included in organisation risk management framework
  • Reviewing and advising on organisational Risk Register and risk management documentation and reporting to Board
  • Interpreting and documenting best practice risk management procedures and documentation
  • Drafting a risk appetite statement for each policy/area of operation for HFHA
  • Liaising with the CEO, senior managers and Company Secretary on risk and policy matters
  • Assisting with risk elements of DFAT accreditation.

HFHA is looking for the following skills:

  • Knowledge and experience in risk management, policy work, law or audit would be ideal
  • Enthusiastic, organised and hardworking
  • Good attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
  • Ensure a high level of confidentiality and trust
  • A person with an enthusiastic, positive manner who is self-motivated, proactive, and who has an empathy with the values of Habitat for Humanity

We are flexible with the start date but ideally we are looking for someone to start as soon as possible. There is the flexibility of working either in our office at North Sydney or working remotely.
