About Happy Yess

Created in 2006 to champion the underground Darwin music scene, Happy Yess provides a place for bands and artists of all genres to grow and experiment. The venue is located in the Brown's Mart Precinct in the Darwin CBD.

Happy Yess is a unique music venue that exists to support local original Darwin music and art. We are a not-for-profit arts organisation that hosts original performers and is supported by a dedicated crew of members and volunteers.

We recognise that the music industry does not treat all performers equally. Happy Yess is dedicated to developing local talent with reportable KPIs against the number of Northern Territory based performers, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander performers, female performers and performers under 25 years old. Happy Yess also prioritises opportunities for emerging performers and LGBTIQ performers.

About the role

Happy Yess is seeking a self motivated individual with experience in the arts sector to lead the organisation. 

The role will oversee the management of the venue, and the planning and coordination of events. This includes:

• implementing effective procedures
• managing the Happy Yess publicity and marketing including social media
• preparing reporting to fulfil funding requirements

The role reports to the Happy Yess Board, requiring an confident and autonomous approach in realising the Happy Board's vision.
