- Time Fraction: full time is preferred but this may be negotiated for the right candidate

- A salary package in the range $55,000 to $70,000 p.a, inclusive of 10% superannuation, is offered depending upon experience and qualifications.

The Role
We are seeking an energetic and creative person to play a key role in engaging ICLEI members and additional councils to grow the ICLEI network and to create a vibrant community of interest around sustainable urban development across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific.
Role Description
In conjunction with the Regional Director, review/develop and deliver a Marketing Plan and Membership Engagement Plan for ICLEI Oceania.
Marketing & Events
- Deliver a communications and marketing strategy to maintain an active, contemporary media presence, including traditional media forms, websites and social media
- Promote events including design of marketing material, graphics and collateral.
- Monitor and review the take-up of ICLEI communications, update to reflect current local government interests and preferred media
- Research and develop storylines
- Contribute to ICLEI global Communications Working Group meetings
- Assist to plan and deliver meetings, workshops, webinars and face-to-face forums, including:
- agenda, program
- logistics - venue, catering, invitations, registrations
- Associated publicity
- Anchor and host webinars
- Follow-up
Membership Engagement
- Manage the members database and mailing lists
- Monitor financial currency of members
- Make regular contact with ICLEI Oceania member councils (staff and elected councillors)
- Identify emerging issues and areas of interest of member and network councils and opportunities for ICLEI support, activities, events.
Key Criteria
- Ability to work relatively autonomously under general supervision. Must be excellent self-manager, may be required to guide volunteers, interns etc.
- High level interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop and edit brochures and other collateral, reports, funding submissions, media releases etc
- Experience in designing and managing attractive and effective websites and social media platforms
- High level skills required in ICT and all forms of media
- Good general understanding of sustainable development and climate change and the roles of local government
- Well-developed research skills
- A relevant tertiary qualification
- Relevant prior experience preferred
