The main Imanadari Counselling office is located in Ultimo, NSW. We’re looking for an admin/reception worker to work from a private space in their home (or in the main office, if preferred) for one to two hours every weekday, as well as an optional one or two half-days (4 hours) in the office in Ultimo.
You will be:
- Responding to emails and returning calls to our call-back service - managing our wait lists and general enquiries
- Helping with basic admin work as needed by the therapeutic team
Selection Criteria
Essential:
- Demonstrated experience working in an administrative and / or reception role
- Commitment to avoid misgendering in all communications;
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with high attention to detail;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Excellent computer skills including word processing and database management;
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate in an affirming, non-pathologising way with people from a variety of backgrounds and experiences, including: Aboriginal people, Autistic / aspie people, gay / lesbian / bisexual people, women and men of trans experience or identity, non-binary people, sex workers, polyamorous / multi-partnered people, people involved in BDSM / consensual kink, people from marginalised cultural and linguistic backgrounds, and trauma survivors;
- Current Working with Children Check and National Police Check (or ability to obtain one as soon as possible).
- Have your own ABN or be willing to obtain one;
- Access to a private space where your phone calls and correspondence will remain confidential (if choosing to partially work from home);
- Your own private computer (if shared, must have your own separate login) and reliable internet access (if choosing to work partially from home).
Desirable:
- Awareness and understanding of service access barriers and challenges often faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and / or intersex people, sex workers, Autistic / aspie people, Aboriginal people, people from marginalised cultural and linguistic backgrounds, and trauma survivors when seeking mental health services
- A broad understanding of the mental health service system in Australia
- Any training or experience in trauma-informed practice or trauma-related topics
