Job Brief

We are seeking 4x Disability Support Workers for our clients in Croydon and Ringwood in casual basis. This role is based in Residential sites.

  • Roster: Monday to Sunday Roster 
  • AM shifts: 7am 
  • PM shifts: 3pm (all PM shifts include sleepover) 
  • been flexible is crucial part of the role
  • Payrate: $43.93

The role of Disability Support Worker includes, but is not limited to the following:

  • Personal care – shower, dressing assistance, bowel care, catheter care.
  • 24/7 Care - plenty of long shifts available.
  • Transfers – Manual handling/ ceiling hoist
  • Domestic – meal prep, household duties, washing, light cleaning, vacuuming.
  • Behaviour management
  • Transport – support workers drive our client's automatic van.
  • Community access – attending events, appointments, shopping, travelling to and from work.
  • Communication – assisting clients with negotiating social environment, reporting any concerns.

To be successful in the role and join the Independence Australia Team, you will:

  • Hold a certificate IV in Disability or equivalent/higher.
  • Have extensive disability support services experience.
  • Possess current Police Check, WWCC, First Aid & CPR certificates, and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • Complete mandatory modules for Infection Control and NDIS Worker Orientation.
  • Be able to provide two sector relevant and recent references.
  • Hold 3+ COVID-19 vaccination doses.
