Inner West Neighbour Aid is seeking a fun, friendly, supportive and organised team player to work in our social support team. The position requires a natural people person, who is motivated to provide innovative programs for seniors. We are after someone who sees that age is no barrier and is passionate about exercise, movement and community involvement. You care about seniors in our community and are passionate about making people feel seen, heard and included.

Inner West Neighbour Aid is a not for profit community organisation, established for over 30 years that provides social support and home maintenance services to older people and their carers living in the inner west. The organisation is primarily funded under the Commonwealth Home Support Programme and other grants.

This position offers:

  • Pay rate at Level 3 Pay Point 1 under the NSW Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award 2010 (SCHADS) Award
  • 2 working days, Mondays and Thursdays, 15 hours per week, available between 8am and 5pm
  • Training provided

Essential Selection Criteria:

  • Qualifications and experience in a relevant discipline, including aged care, community services, human services, health services, nursing, allied health
  • Experience in supporting older people, people with disability and their carers
  • Strong interest in health and wellbeing initiatives
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimal or no supervision as well as being a team player
  • Excellent organisational, time management skills and problem solving skills
  • Computer skills including working knowledge of MS Access Databases, Windows operating system
  • Senior First Aid Certificate or willingness to undertake same
  • Food Handling Certificate or willingness to undertake same
  • COVID-19 vaccination and booster or willingness to obtain
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence and experience driving 12 seater vans
