  • Inhousing provides accessible housing, supporting people living with disability to live with autonomy in their home, along with assistive technology to increase independence and enjoyment of home, through Stretchy Tech.
  • Julia Farr MS McLeod Benevolent Fund provides grant funding for projects that advance authentic inclusion for people living with disability.

About the role

We’re seeking to recruit a Social Media and Digital Communications Officer to join our newly-formed Marketing and Communications Team.

You’ll work across the Julia Farr group to provide high-quality, integrated, and meaningful social media and digital communications support, with a particular focus on the work of Inhousing and Stretchy Tech. An enthusiastic team player and collaborator, you’ll also be encouraged to contribute to big picture planning, and you'll happily step in to help your teammates during peak busy periods.

As part of a team of passionate marketing, communications and digital content professionals, you’ll have significant autonomy in your role, and you’ll also receive excellent mentoring, support and career development along the way.

Key work activities

The main work activities of the role include:

  • Coordination of our web presence and social media channels, ensuring they are as accessible as possible for all users
  • Writing, curating and distributing email newsletters, and EDMs
  • Setting up online events using the online events platform, including creating and scheduling email campaigns targeted at attendees
  • Entering and updating contacts information in our database
  • Reporting on the performance of digital platforms and communication initiatives
  • Tracking social media trends and applying them to our work to help us grow our audience and drive engagement
  • Regularly seeking opportunities to promote the voices of people living with disability on our media channels
  • Assisting in the production of media content, including taking mobile videos for social media platforms, podcasts, graphic design and web content
  • Creating and maintaining tenancy listings on housing advertising directories and websites
