The role details:
Jabiru School Age Care is are looking for an energetic, motivated School Age Care Service Manager to manage and lead a team at the outside school hours care service at Hilliard State School, in Alexandra Hills, Brisbane. Learn more about our Hilliard State School community here.
- The role is full-time 38 hours per week. You will be working 30 hours per week contact (in ratio) and 8 hours per week for non-contact time
- Have more flexibility during the day! You will be working split shifts (6.30am to 9am & 2.30pm to 6pm) Monday to Friday during school terms. For school holidays, you can be flexible with which shift you work, but you need to be available to work between the operating hours of 6.30am and 6pm
- You must be qualified and have completed a Diploma or equivalent qualification and be experienced working in school age care or early childhood to take on this leadership position
- Our service is dynamic, energetic and growing. You need to thrive on the energy of a vibrant service and be keen to build attendances. We have a licence capacity of 90

Who we're looking for:
We are looking for a child care, children's services, education or related professional who is:
- Experienced as an effective, wise and knowledgeable senior practitioner providing leadership in a school age care service
- Motivated by the challenge of leading a vibrant & dynamic service
- Skilled in communicating (verbal and written) and collaborating with families, professionals, community members and fellow staff members
- Proven leadership and effective communication skills to develop a team of skilled and enthusiastic educators
- Knowledge of effective business, budgeting and management skills
- Able to prepare and implement high quality, innovative, developmentally appropriate programs in school age care, and to include children and families in this process
- Able to develop strong relationships with children, parents and the school community
- Understands the processes and skills required to engage children in contributing to their own unique experience of community
You will need:
- An approved Diploma level qualification in children’s services, education or a related area
- A current Paid Employee Working with Children Check Blue Card, current first aid, CPR and asthma and anaphylaxis management qualifications
- Qualified and experienced to act as the Nominated Supervisor, Educational Leader and Person in Day to Day Charge
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Education and Care National Law 2010, Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011, National Quality Framework, National Quality Standards and Learning Framework My Time Our Place
- Effective computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft office suite products, childcare management software (QikKids) and preferable knowledge of workforce management system Human Force
- At least 18 months experience in leadership in a school age care, child care or related environment
