The Opportunity:

Are you a passionate and skilled professional who wants to plan, coordinate and deliver community development activities, programs and events that aim to increase social capital and community connections for the community of Onkaparinga? If so this opportunity could be for you!

As the Community Development Officer, you will use your strong organisational and interpersonal skills to work and engage with other stakeholders in local communities including individuals, residents’ groups, Local Government and other community-based organisations to determine needs, attract additional resources and identify and deliver community development and family support programs.

Your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Coordinating daily activities
  • Liaising with volunteers and interacting with community members
  • Actively contributing to the development of new programs within the site and compilation of funding submissions to support those activities
  • Recording data to meet the requirements of various funding bodies including Results-Based Accountability

About You:

We are seeking a highly driven person who:

  • Has the ability to plan, implement and evaluate community development programs and projects
  • Possesses sound interpersonal skills to effectively engage and establish rapport with participants, staff and external agencies
  • Has the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Holds experience preparing, implementing, evaluating and reporting on grant-funded programs
  • Has an understanding of social justice principles – including equity of access, discrimination and equal opportunity, individuals’ rights and privacy
  • Holds a Certificate IV Community Services or equivalent or substantial experience in the field

You Will Need To:
