The Opportunity:

This is an exciting opportunity to work with families to assess their strengths and motivation to care to ensure that children and young people are supported to reach their full potential. As a core member of the team, you will have an assessment caseload throughout the Adelaide Metropolitan region working from a therapeutic, trauma-informed framework. You will be responsible for;

• Day-to-day case management of carers
• Assessment and support for carers
• Plan, prepare and document specific activities, achievements and concerns
• Building and maintaining trusting and meaningful relationships with carers and relevant stakeholders
• Improving access to relevant services and assisting families to navigate the child protection system
• Conducting annual reviews ensuring compliance with ongoing accreditation and re-certification requirements

About You:

We are seeking a highly driven person who:

• Possesses knowledge and experience in carer assessment and mandated training packages
• Has a demonstrated understanding of appropriate psychoeducation for carers to assist them to respond to complex behaviours
• Can demonstrate a clear understanding of supporting carers to understand child development
• Has demonstrated experience and/or understanding of managing a caseload of clients
• Possesses sound communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to prioritise your own workload
• Holds knowledge and/or has experience working with young people under the Guardianship of the Chief Executive
• Has an understanding of social justice principles – including equity of access, discrimination and equal opportunity, individuals' rights and privacy
• Holds a degree or tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Human Services or relevant equivalent (or lesser qualification complemented by substantial relevant experience)
