The Junction Works’ Disability Services include a range of services such as day programs for adults, after school and vacation care for children along with a range of weekend and respite services. These services are run across more than 20 locations in South West Sydney, including locations of Share Care Disability Services', a subsidiary of The Junction Works.

Your Next Career Move

With the continued growth of The Junction Works, we now have an opportunity for a dedicated and passionate Disability Support Worker to join one of our day programs. The role are for a minimum of 32.50 hours per week.

The role is pivotal to the continued growth and development of the participants and the services we provide. You will ensure a positive, strengths based and person centred service is provided to enable individuals with disabilities to reach their own potential and become integrated into their community.

More specifically, some of your key duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Contribute to the daily operation of services that provide life skills development, social inclusion and vocational opportunities for people with a disability
  • Ensure participants maintain and develop everyday life skills and increase their independence.
  • Implement and record progress of innovative programs to meet individual participants goals in conjunction with their National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) plan
  • Promote effective communication ensuring information regarding participant needs and site operations are adequately and appropriately shared within the site
  • Transport participants when and where necessary in order to ensure access to services/programs

About You

We are seeking two passionate and qualified people who are looking for an opportunity to develop and take their career to the next step. You will bring with you to this role a demonstrated knowledge of/exposure to all areas of disability support along with a passion for supporting and developing everyone involved.

The ideal candidate will also bring an open and creative mindset to the position, strong organisational skills and the willingness to jump into any task at hand will also contribute to your success in this role.

A current First Aid Certificate, current NSW Drivers Licence, current NSW Working with Children Check are all required prior to commencing employment. These positions is at Grade 2/Level 2 of the SCHCDSI Award.
