Kwinana Early Years Services (KEYS) work with families through the provision of an integrated range of family services that empower parents, carers and children to achieve positive life outcomes. 

About the position

We are seeking a motivated individual who holds relevant qualifications in human services to join our Family Support Team. The role requires the employee to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and an understanding of family systems and community development. 

The aim of this position is to provide onsite case management and outreach services to families whilst building family and parenting capacity to those who are facing adversity.   

Selection Criteria

  • Diploma in Community Services or other relevant tertiary qualification
  • Ability to engage with families and work in partnership with them to achieve their goals, using a variety of intervention strategies from a range of theoretical models
  • Demonstrated experience in Case Management
  • Conceptual and analytical skills with a proven ability to provide innovative thinking
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to liaise, link and collaborate effectively with all stakeholders
  • Maintain strictest confidentiality levels
  • Excellent verbal and written communication 
  • Demonstrated computer skills 
  • Strong ethical and professional practice
  • Sound theoretical framework of parenting/health issues and demonstrated understanding of family systems theory
  • Strong working knowledge of strengths-based practice, child development, attachment, trauma theory and how these relate to children, young people, and their families
  • Ability to work creatively with families using a range of approaches and interventions to build parenting capacity and affect changes in behaviour

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Circle of Security and Protective Behaviours
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of early years and child development (0-12years)
  • Knowledge of relevant State and Federal legislation and how it relates to the care and protection of children in WA
  • Experience working with families from culturally and linguistically diverse CaLD and Indigenous backgrounds
  • Experience working with drug and alcohol, mental health and domestic violence issues
  • An understanding of intergenerational issues
  • First Aid Certificate 

We are looking to recruit one permanent part-time position (0.8 FTE).
