KU Children's Services (KU) is a leading not-for-profit provider of nearly 130 early childhood education and care services in NSW, VIC, the ACT and QLD. Established in 1895, KU is one of Australia’s most experienced and respected providers of long day care, preschool, outside school hours care, family programs and early intervention services. KU also operates programs on behalf of the Australian Government and provides professional services to the early childhood sector and the wider community.
KU Children’s Services (KU), in partnership with Include Me (part of Big Fat Smile Ltd), receives Australian Government funding to operate the Inclusion Development Fund Manager (IDFM). The IDFM is the single national organisation responsible for management of the Inclusion Development Fund (IDF), which is a key element of the Inclusion Support Program (ISP). The ISP supports early childhood education and care (ECEC) services to build their capacity to implement and embed inclusive practices and include children with additional needs alongside their peers.
The Inclusion Development Fund (IDF) provides funding to mainstream ECEC services, including Outside School Hours Care, to address barriers to inclusion. The IDFM ensures a nationally consistent and equitable application of the IDF eligibility requirements to all applications from ECEC services.
This opportunity within our passionate IDFM team will suit an Early Education Professional who has a teaching background and looking to bring their sector knowledge to aid in providing an inclusive environment for all children and educators.
The Application Assessor’s role is to assess applications for Inclusion Development Fund (IDF), in line with the Inclusion Support Program (ISP) Guidelines and the IDF Policy and Practice Framework.
The position will communicate with ECEC services and Inclusion Agencies to build understanding of the IDF and application processes and will contribute to continuous improvement of the IDFM. The Application Assessor will provide feedback and advice to assist services to implement a quality, inclusive service for all children, in line with the National Quality Standards and Approved Learning Frameworks.
These positions are as a result of increased demand for funded support through the Inclusion Support Program with the role configured as either - Full Time (Monday to Friday) accruing a monthly rostered day off OR in a 4 day capacity. Both options are on 12 month fixed term contracts due to current funding.
The position will be based between our IDFM Office in Sydney’s CBD and working from home.
