Katungul Aboriginal Corporation Regional Health and Community Services is a not-for-profit organisation providing culturally attuned, integrated health and community services on the Far South Coast of New South Wales.

The Manager Health Services is responsible for the overall management of Katungul’s clinical services, including the health clinics in Bega, Narooma, Batemans Bay and outreach clinics. This position is a key leadership role where you will lead and manage a team of health professionals to provide quality health care under Katungul’s model of care ensuring all activities undertaken meet legislative, accreditation and professional standards and funding obligations.

Reporting to the Director Health Services you will be responsible for providing clinical oversight of the services, facilitating a strong clinical governance culture and empowering staff to ensure all staff work towards excellence in service delivery.

The successful applicant will be part of a service that takes pride in the delivery of holistic health care to Aboriginal communities for better health outcomes.

Qualifications, skills and experience

Essential

  • A bachelor’s degree in nursing or any clinical area is essential part of the role.
  • Current AHPRA registration as a suitably qualified health professional.
  • Demonstrated experience and or qualifications in health administration, health management or public health administration.
  • Demonstrated experience (minimum three years) in clinical management, managing both clinical services and teams of multidisciplinary health professionals.
  • Demonstrated experience either working in or managing in a community-based health setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading teams and individuals and a contemporary leadership style that develops and support employees, with a focus on accountability, service improvement and community satisfaction.
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical governance, including effective management of clinical risk.

Desirable

  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the principles of primary health care in an Aboriginal community-controlled environment and how they apply to Closing the Gap and the prevention and management of chronic disease.
  • Demonstrated competency in the use the range of information and communication technology relevant to the position.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of information management and the ability to gather information and analyse it.
