We’re looking for someone to deliver high quality events, our newsletter, digital communications and assist with the preparation of speeches and presentations. Being a small innovative organisation, we are looking for an enthusiastic self-starter who is willing to learn on the job and develop creative approaches in their work.

About the role

The Communications and Events Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day development and delivery of the organisation’s communications program and manages our events including the National Congress & Business Expo.

The National Congress is the organisation’s largest annual event and is a forum for senior executives and emerging leaders from councils around Australia and internationally to come together to discuss the key issues and opportunities for local government. Congress features presentations by high-profile experts, workshops, networking opportunities and culminates in a Gala Dinner celebrating excellence in the sector. The event also includes a business expo which is attended by corporate delegates, exhibitors and major sponsors. The Congress will be a central feature of the national communications program.

The role requires a strategic thinker with strong writing skills and an abundance of energy. It is a broad, generalist role, that is critical to the performance of the national office. You will be required to undertake a broad range of technical functions, from website administration through to project management. We are keen to identify a resourceful team player possess strong common sense and thrive in a collaborative environment.
