We are currently looking to recruit an Advanced Disability Support Worker for 7/9 River Drive Bundoora. This is a great opportunity to enter a front-line management role, offering a career pathway to build upon your qualifications and further your leadership and client management skills. The role is responsible for 2IC support to the house supervisor providing mentoring and guidance to staff and direct client support to an all-male resident house – with a variety of support needs including some manual handling assistance for showering and dressing, some feeding support and management of medications and BOC strategies and due to deafness, some signing. This is a great opportunity to make a difference in assisting these clients achieve their individual goals.
This is a full-time ongoing position and the roster line 78/74 hrs per month it is days/evenings with no sleepover or active nights requirements with alternate weekends off - Sat, Sun & Monday.
As the successful new addition to the team, we need you to actively demonstrate previous successes working clients with behaviours of concern and dual disabilities. You will have proven experience in working in group homes and have a sound knowledge of relevant legislation as well as excellent skills in communicating effectively with a diverse group of key stakeholders as a leader, mentor and advocate for clients and staff alike. You must be a hands-on team player with positive behaviour support experience and leadership capabilities able to support the House Supervisor as a 2IC promote and provide best practice support to clients as well as supervision and mentoring of other team members.
