About the role

Life Without Barriers has been selected by the Victorian Government to operate disability accommodation and respite services, known as Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Short Term Accommodation and Assistance (STAA) currently managed by the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services. To ensure the transfer of the services to Life Without Barriers is a smooth and successful experience for participants, staff and families involved, a number of positions are now available in the transfer project.

This role will work across Disability program areas and with various stakeholders to assist with project implementation and the delivery of project plans within a team responsible for the NDIS transition component of the transfer. This will include planning, coordination, administration associated with SIL and STAA for each participant. 

The position can be based in any of our offices in the  Inner East or Richmond areas of Melbourne at the candidates' convenience. It is worth noting however, due to the nature of the role there will be a significant amount of local travel.  

Key Responsibilities 

  • Work with individual service users and their support networks to gather information.
  • Work collaboratively as a member of an inter-disciplinary team in the implementation and development of individual service user plans.
  • Build and maintain effective partnerships with stakeholders to facilitate integrated service delivery.
  • Maintaining business knowledge in a progressive and changing environment, keeping abreast of organisational changes in order to deliver superior and up to date project and administrative services and advice.

Skills & Experience

  • Understanding and experience in disability services and the NDIS
  • Experience in providing project support and assistance.
  • Ability to manage sensitive information and maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Well-developed ability to use initiative, think laterally and strategically.
  • Demonstrated experience to work independently and as a part of a team.
  • Strong written and oral communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated professional skills and ability to model appropriate organisational behaviours
  • Demonstrated ability to use the Microsoft Office suite of programs; including intermediate to advance skill in Microsoft Excel and Word

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
