Lighthouse Foundation offers an integrated therapeutic model of care for homeless children and young people who predominantly come from a background of long-term neglect and abuse. Our people are dedicated to making a change in our children and young people's lives. At Lighthouse, we believe that every child or young person is one caring adult away from being a success story.
In a Lighthouse home, children, young people and families are supported by Therapeutic Carers as well as specialist services including case management and psychological support.
The Intake and Outreach Worker holds responsibilities for two functions. Firstly, to be responsible for the intake of young people into Lighthouse Foundation programs, consistent with program guidelines and Lighthouse’s Model of Care. This will include forming connection with external youth homelessness services and young people entering a Lighthouse program. Secondly, continuing attachment and a sense of belonging for young people who have transitioned from Lighthouse Foundation into meaningful independent living. You will utilise Lighthouse Foundation’s centrally located Youth Resource Centre in Richmond and your relational way of being to provide outreach support for young people to remain involved with the community and provide mentorship.
The Intake and Outreach Worker is supported within a multidisciplinary team, and through provision of reliable and predictable operational and clinical supervision.
This is a 0.8 FTE position (30.4 hours per week) mainly working within the hours of 9-5 Monday-Friday. However, the role may require evening and weekend work to support community events and program needs.
