Link-Up (NSW) Aboriginal Corporation was founded in 1980 to assist all Aboriginal people who had been directly affected by past government policies; being separated from their families and culture through forced removal, being fostered, adopted or raised in institutions.

Link-Up (NSW) supports the healing journeys of those removed; delivering professional, culturally sensitive and confidential research, reunions and Social, Emotional and Wellbeing services to those over the age of eighteen.

We are seeking an experienced Manager to oversee our Programs in the Social, Emotional and Wellbeing (SEWB) and Youth and community streams to join our team. Reporting to the CEO you will be responsible for overseeing all Link-Up programmes and services. Ensuring and leading the design, delivery and ongoing assessment of culturally appropriate, supportive and effective client centred services and ensuring organisational effectiveness.

About the role:

  • The Programs Manager will support the CEO in ensuring the strategic success of Link-Up (NSW) through identifying, scoping and managing the implementation of strategic business development and continuous improvement opportunities for both Social and Emotional Wellbeing, Youth and Community Streams.
  • Development and implementing fit-for-purpose policies and supporting frameworks to ensure all programme related functions and issues are effectively managed, with an emphasis on capability building, ensuring compliance and optimising team performance.
  • Developing, implementing, improving and overseeing all programme related processes and procedures.
  • Representing the Organisation with or in place of the CEO at stakeholder meetings and external project consultations in relation to programmes.
  • Complete and submit performance reports to funding bodies and applicable bodies.
  • Over-see the organisation of healing weekends.
  • Mentor and coach direct reports, develop mentoring workplans.
  • Report as directed the Executive team on all role duties and programme functions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve programme functions and identify ways to better utilise stagging to ensure the highest quality of client service provision whilst meeting funding body PLAs and KPIs.
  • Identify Organisational continuous improvement opportunities, scope, produce resolutions and implement solutions where applicable.
  • Ensure management and support of staff across all programmes.
  • Ensure appropriate levels of supervision are provided to staff to support both clinical and cultural practice.

About you:

  • Aboriginality is a genuine qualification and is authorised by Section 14d of the Anti discrimination Act 1977.
  • Qualifications in management and / or Community Services.
  • 5+ years experience working within Social Services or related areas.
  • Sound understanding of Management, Social and Emotional Wellbeing, clinical functions, funding bodies and not-for-profit organisations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the impact of past Government policies on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
  • A very high level of attention to detail and strong communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage varies and conflicting demands to agreed standards and timelines.
  • Must be able to work 35 hours per week.
  • Must be able to travel within NSW and interstate.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Proven interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work independently, plan and organise daily tasks, and be efficient and accurate to achieve the objectives of the position within set timelines.
