Multicultural Center For Women's Health (MCWH) is a national, community-based organisation which is led by and for women from migrant and refugee backgrounds, seeking an Executive Assistant.
Position objective
To provide confidential executive administrative support to the Executive Director.
Organisational relationships
Internal
The Executive Assistant reports directly to the Executive Director and works closely with the Senior Management Team.
External
Relevant federal, state and local government departments; funding bodies; national, state and regional research, service delivery and policy bodies; media; community organisations.
Extent of Authority
Day-to-day implementation of administration activity as required by the Executive Director.
Key Responsibilities
Executive Administration
Relationships and Partner Development
- Support and facilitate the development and maintenance of the Executive Director’s strategic relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders;
- Maintain membership and other key stakeholder databases.
Quality Assurance
- Provide an excellent standard of executive administration support.
General
- Represent MCWH externally as required;
- Participate in team and staff meetings, including contributing to planning, development and evaluation of the organisation;
- Develop a regular work plan and participate in regular performance appraisal and professional development;
- Prepare work reports or other reporting materials as required;
- Other duties consistent with the role and as negotiated with the Executive Director.
Special Requirements
- Some evening or weekend work may be required from time to time;
- The candidate must be able to work from home in a hybrid working from home/office arrangement.
Selection Criteria
Essential
- Relevant tertiary qualifications;
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in an executive administration role;
- Demonstrated understanding of administrative functions and office practices;
- Advanced digital skills, including in Word, Excel, PowerPoint;
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and to exercise discretion;
- Excellent ability to exercise initiative;
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills;
- Excellent writing and analytical skills;
- Commitment to, and understanding of, migrant and refugee women’s issues from an intersectional feminist perspective.
Highly Desirable
- Fluency in a language other than English.
Salary & conditions
- Fixed Term Full-time 38 hours per week
- Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 Award Level 6.1
- Above-award leave entitlements as outlined in MCWH EBA 2013
- Salary Packaging Living Expenses up to $15,900 pa
- Meals and Entertainment Program up to $2,650 pa
Period of appointment
This is a fixed term position until 31 December 2023, pending successful completion of a three-month probationary period. There is a possibility of extension beyond the initial term.
