Moonee Valley Legal Service (MVLS) is seeking full time family lawyer with family violence expertise for a fixed-term of 12 months.

MVLS is located in Ascot Vale and provides free legal assistance and education to people who live, work or study in the City of Moonee Valley. Our service is located within a vibrant community centre in the middle of a public housing estate, with a number of co-located services including maternal and child health nurses, settlement services, drug and alcohol counsellors and English language classes. 

This role will involve the provision of advice, casework and advocacy services to disadvantaged clients on a range of legal issues, with a focus on family law and family violence related matters. It will also include the supervision of law student volunteers, the provision of legal information sessions and representation of clients at legally assisted Family Dispute Resolution conferences.

4 years+ legal experience in family law and family violence and eligibility to hold an unrestricted practising certificate is essential. Family law and family violence experience in the CLC sector is preferred.
