Join a team helping people experiencing individual and structural disadvantage who want to operate their own small businesses to sustain lifelong change for themselves, their families and communities. Many Rivers is a focused, vibrant and innovative not-for-profit enterprise development organisation, with a special focus on supporting Indigenous Australians. Our dedicated staff apply their business know-how and experiences to guide individuals and communities to start, stay, and thrive in business.
Many Rivers commenced operations in April 2008. Our National Office is in Sydney and our team live and work in remote regional and urban locations across Australia. We are expanding our national footprint.
When people impacted by disadvantage are not able to participate in the real economy they remain disadvantaged and unable to move forward. In many of the regions where we are located there are limited job opportunities. Therefore, to create change and economic opportunities for all Australians who want the chance to overcome multiple economic and social challenges, we need to support enterprise creation and provide connection for small businesses across Australia to the mainstream economies.
Our team comes with a broad range of business, corporate, social services, and community development experiences. We offer:
We are recruiting a Microenterprise Development Manager (MED Manager) to be based in Roma/Chinchilla, QLD. MED Managers work within their region supporting individuals into sustainable businesses and will be supported by the Head of Region and Head of Microenterprise Development.
Many Rivers has a tested and innovative Microenterprise Development (MED) program working successfully with small business owners that will direct the support provided by MED Managers.
Our MED Managers have run their own businesses, been a business coach, or have associated experience. We are looking for energised, motivated, and capable self-starters who are energised by challenges and the opportunity to achieve real and tangible enterprise and employment outcomes. You will be a savvy and compassionate operator, prepared to constructively help people move themselves ahead in business.
If you have an interest in social justice, working alongside individuals and families that are working hard to build a better future, spending time with people, building working and trusted relationships; and want the opportunity to live and work in regional or remote Australia, this opportunity could be for you.
